You absolutely should treat it as an interview! On both sides, you’re deciding if you want to work together.

Do your research. What kind of company are they? What are people saying about them? What is their mission/values/etc.?

In addition, I think it’s extremely important to discuss having a contract, deliverables, and timeline. If a company is not willing to sign a contract, that is a HUGE red flag to me.
