Yes, thank you! I’ve been preaching forever how a portfolio is not that important, and especially not when you’re talking to clients and selling yourself. Confidence and relationship building is so much more important!

In fact, I think the thing that holds most people back from getting out and starting their business and actually getting clients is the focus and overthinking of trying to have everything “done” or “right” before ever going out and looking for clients — a website, portfolio, business cards, etc. It’s all trappings.

Before any of that, you should prove proof of concept — go out and get clients! You can provide a portfolio later. Find people, offer your services, build a relationship, see and prove how you can provide VALUE to people first!
