This is exactly how I discuss writing for a living. I agree and also enumerate how being a freelancer and working from home is lonely as hell, and being your own boss sounds a lot more fun and glamorous than it really is.

And forget about taking a lot of time off! There is no such thing as paid time off when you’re a freelancer! You’re either working a couple hours a day on vacation or you’re not making money. Those are basically the only options.

Writing is the easiest part! If we weren’t already good writers, we wouldn’t have been able to be a full-time writer in the first place. Writing comes fairly easily to us — it is all the rest of running a profitable business and finding clients and sales and motivation and the weird hours that are hard!
