The Power of Om: How Meditation Helped Me Through a Mental Health Crisis

In early January 2023, I involuntarily joined a group nobody wanted to be in: I got laid off from my well-paying tech industry job.

If the old adage is true that misery loves company, I had a lot of company that month.

How I learned I was about to lose my job was in some ways worse than actually losing it. I received an unusual, last-minute Teams meeting invitation from my manager’s boss at 3:00 p.m. for an 8:30 a.m. meeting the next morning.
