My life seems to gravitate towards the month of May for some reason.

13 years ago this month, I graduated high school with a diploma AND community college with an Associate’s degree in Mass Communications, and big dreams.

10 years ago yesterday, I graduated from college with a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and no clue what to do next.

7 years ago next week I moved from Gainesville, FL to New York City. I didn’t know anyone, had no idea what neighborhood I should live in, and severely underestimated my budgeting skills. 5 months later I met the man who is now my husband.

5 years ago this month, my close friend and now former boss gave me a shot as a recruiter, a move I’d been wanting to make. He allowed me to branch into a new type of career, he cultivated my curiosity, he let me ask a million questions, and supported me wholeheartedly.

1 year ago this month, I was contemplating turning 30 and trying to really think about what I wanted out of life.

This led me on my journey over the last year to gain more exposure with writing, find paying clients, and ultimately quit my corporate job to be a full-time writer.

I have had the endless support of my family and friends, and I am in love with my life every day.
