There are a million articles out there giving you advice on how to format your resume, what you should include, how long it should be, and more. Sometimes it seems like we’re constantly bombarded with different “facts” about resumes and what makes yours stand out.

I may be able to help. I was a Recruiter and Business Development Manager in the staffing industry for about 5 years. And I am now a hiring manager who reviews resumes, conducts interviews, and hires people.

That means that not only did I see hundreds of resumes per week for open positions as a recruiter, but that I also worked directly with the clients in biz dev: the companies looking to hire someone. I got their exact feedback on resumes, interviews, candidates, and more. And these days, I have my own hiring perspective on resumes.

I’ve seen how resumes perform from every angle.
